Senior Business Applications Analyst IT / Application Systems / Integrated and Customer Systems
Position Hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
Salary Min. $65,000 - Mid. $82,900 - Max. $100,800
Education BS or BA in MIS or Information Systems, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Requirements BS or BA in MIS or Information Systems, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum two (2) years of project management experience. Experience with using MS Project preferred. Minimum seven (7) years of Business Analyst or functional support experience which must include (2) years of Application experience with PeopleSoft Enterprise Revenue Management (PSERM) or Oracle Customer Care & Billing System (CC&B). Experience with network architectures, relational databases (ORACLE and MS SQL SERVER) and client/server environment (HP UNIX and MS Windows XP or higher) desired. Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills. Strong leadership, administrative and organizational skills are a plus. Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. Good written and oral communication skills; ability to make presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Basic Job Duties Interface with functional users to define and document functional requirements for application software using structured user interviewing techniques. Define and document system scope, current logical view, general requirements and proposed logical view using structured design and analysis techniques. Identify opportunities for improvement within the system, including making recommendations on how users can best utilize the product to accomplish their functional objectives. Evaluate existing and new system functionality and determine any requirements not met by the specific system, and develop action plan to correct deficiencies. Develop, research and evaluate feasibility of alternatives to meet project objectives and recommend optimal alternatives. Guide and participate with the Programmer Analyst(s) in the conversion of system requirements into detailed program specifications appropriate for delegation to programmers. Develop and maintain documentation regarding system functionality. Document all issues and their resolution. Design and optimize test plans for unit, integration and user acceptance tests. Perform follow-up validation of corrected deliverables with the user community. Coordinate the implementation, technical writing and user training activities associated with the system changes and/or new systems development efforts. Write training material and conduct user training related to current and new systems. Write documentation for new system functions and/or updates to existing system documentation. Review existing procedures and identifies which ones will change. Recommend any new procedures that must be instituted as a result of the system. Provide functional expertise for all Information Technology. Provide leadership to all areas of the Commission by keeping up to date with how the systems are used. Assist co-workers in functional areas of expertise.
