Technician II (Pwr Plant) -Instrumentation
Stanton Energy Center

Position Hours
6:30 am - 3:00 pm (4 days), Subject to change based on business needs

Salary
$23.90- $27.60 per hour

This is a safety sensitive position under the State of Florida Drug-Free Workplace Act and is subject to: post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, periodic, and pre-employment alcohol/controlled substance testing. Education
High school diploma or equivalent education

Requirements
Tech 2- Min 4 yrs of power plant, or 7 years of industrial instrumentation. Electronic and pneumatic knowledge and the ability to evaluate system problems. Mechanical skills desirable. Courses in digital controls, pneumatic instrumentation, analog controls, electronic transmitters, etc. are desirable. Knowledge of Foxboro and Ovation software preferred. Must be able to read and understand mechanical, structural, piping and instrument drawings. Possess basic PC Skills. Skills will be evaluated by a practical exercise. Working knowledge of general industrial safety skills. Must be able to read and understand mechanical, structural, and piping and instrument drawings. Basic Power Plant Knowledge Operations is desirable. Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel, both verbally and on in-plant radios and paging systems. Able to perform physically demanding activities while working in all types of extreme environments, both indoors and outdoors. Job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work in power plant environment, which includes rotating equipment, electrical equipment, high noise areas, and elevations in excess of 100 feet, ability to work in confined spaces. Must be physically able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, etc., and maintain required licenses or certifications. Willingness to complete NUS Course in electrical and Instrumentation. Must possess basic PC skills. Willingness to work extended hours: nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Basic Job Duties
Troubleshoot and maintain power plant instruments such as pneumatic and electronic controllers, microprocessor systems, transmitters, recorders, control valves, fuel gas monitoring equipment, etc. Ability to perform maintenance on above described equipment. Ability to troubleshoot above described equipment including problem identification, evaluation of alternative solutions and implementation of corrective action. Ability to read control loop drawings, piping and instrument drawings, and logic drawings.
