| JOB DESCRIPTION: |
|
- Responsible for leading and implementing all departmental service and service developmental efforts.
- Direct and supervise service and catering staff.
- Conduct staff and pre-convention meetings.
- Input and maintain Daylight Scheduler as well as maintaining quality control of the physical convention area, including wallpaper and carpeting.
- Oversee exhibition company activities.
- Monitor group room utilization/pick up.
- Interact with the Hotel division, Audio-Visual and Special Events.
- Handles all group details once made definite by Convention Sales, including but no limited to the program and meeting set-up, through group departure.
- Works as liaison between the client and Vdara and communicates groups? needs to all required departments.
- Ensure contract specifications are met, including but not limited to payment, reservation procedures and all program related activities.
- Prepare post-convention reports.
- Perform other duties as requested by Vice President of Hotel Sales & Marketing.
- Direct and oversee activities of the catering staff in handling arrangements for and execution of all events.
- Effectively manage the availability of all space and develop and implement marketing strategies to target off peak dates.?
- Establish booking guidelines.
- Establish, implement and enforce service and catering departmental policies and procedures.
- Delegate job tasks.
- Interact with all departments.
- Oversee payment/deposit requirements for all catered events.?Service and oversee the servicing of all catering clients.
- Assign meeting space and estimate catering revenue for all sales groups which require catered functions.
- Monitor catering financial statements, ensuring payroll is in line with revenue and all purchases are justified.
- Review all banquet checks and group reports after functions.
- Conduct tours of banquet area and other hotel areas.
- Order, oversee and monitor all ordering of supplies and rental items for catering and services departments.
- Assist in planning and execution of hotel sponsored events.
- Ensure all catering services are up to Vdara?s standards and priced appropriately within the Market.
- Solicit and procure catering business comprised of groups????
- Other related duties as necessary

| JOB REQUIREMENTS: |
|
|
Required:
- At least seven years of work experience in the hotel industry required
- Five plus years of hotel convention services experience required
- At least four years of catering experience required
- Two plus years experience in food & beverage management
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university preferred
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Professional appearance and demeanor
